Sorin Grindeanu, the Social Democratic Party’s (PSD) interim leader, has reportedly already established the nucleus of the team he intends to propose at the upcoming PSD Congress, as part of his strategy to consolidate his internal power.
According to political sources, Grindeanu’s plan includes names such as:
· Victor Negrescu, MEP and PSD vice president;
· Bogdan Ivan, Minister of Energy;
· Lia Olguța Vasilescu, mayor of Craiova;
· Ionuț Pucheanu, mayor of Galați;
· Gheorghe Șoldan, president of the Suceava County Council.
Grindeanu is also counting on Florin Barbu, considered a close associate of the current party secretary general, Paul Stănescu, for this position.
The congress to elect the PSD president will be held in the fall of this year, said PSD interim leader Sorin Grindeanu.
